BD Lead - European Practice Groups
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to support the European Practice Groups at a leading law firm operating across multiple jurisdictions. This is a strategic, client-facing role focused on driving client development, cross-selling, and new business growth, while coordinating activity across countries and teams.
Working closely with senior leaders, you will help shape and deliver the group’s international strategy, strengthen key client relationships, and raise the group’s market profile through targeted campaigns and initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver the international business development strategy with practice leaders.
• Lead client development and targeting programmes, including intermediaries and external partners.
• Originate and progress new business opportunities.
• Design and deliver BD campaigns, tracking performance and ROI.
• Collaborate with PR, events, and digital teams to enhance market profile.
• Provide market insight, business analysis, and strategic guidance.
• Oversee BD infrastructure, budgets, pitches, and submissions.
• Support coordination across teams and contribute to BD skills development.
Job Requirements
• Degree educated.
• 3–5+ years’ experience in a similar BD role, ideally within professional services.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven experience in cross-selling and new business generation.
• Highly organised, collaborative, and comfortable working internationally.
