BD Manager - Disputes - 12 month FTC
Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join a globally recognised legal practice on a 12-month FTC, playing a pivotal role in supporting high-profile international teams across arbitration, public international law, and construction & infrastructure disputes.
About the Role
This is a broad, dynamic and high-impact role, supporting the day-to-day and strategic business development needs of key disputes groups based in London, while also taking a lead on global initiatives.
You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior partners and fee earners, helping shape and implement BD plans aligned with ambitious global strategies, particularly in light of recent international expansion and integration efforts.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Build strong relationships with partners, associates, and the wider BD team across global offices.
• Lead and implement business development plans for the International Arbitration and Construction & Infrastructure Disputes teams.
• Support global strategic initiatives to expand market presence, especially in the US.
• Manage and coordinate client targeting, cross-selling, and profile-raising initiatives.
• Lead high-value, often complex pitch processes and panel submissions.
• Take ownership of key client relationship activity and client listening programmes.
• Support and mentor junior team members and fee earners in their business development efforts.
• Contribute to thought leadership, legal directory submissions, marketing content, and client-facing materials.
Job Requirements
• 5+ years’ business development or marketing experience in a professional services or corporate environment, ideally with exposure to dispute resolution.
• Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic planning.
• A collaborative, proactive approach with a strong ability to manage projects and influence others.
• Excellent communication, writing, and organisational skills.
• A professional, commercially minded outlook, with the ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure.
• Familiarity with tools like InterAction, Foundation, or VutureVx is an advantage but not essential.
