BD Manager - Capital Markets
Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the growth of the Capital Markets practice of a global leading law firm. With a particular focus on Derivatives & Structured Products, you will strategically support the partners and fee-earners, working alongside a global BD & Marketing team. Fundamentally, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, identifying opportunities, and driving client-centric initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement business development strategies to position the firm as a market leader in Derivatives & Structured Products.
• Align client targeting and growth strategies with global priorities.
• Build and strengthen relationships with clients, internal stakeholders and international teams, driving cross-selling across practices and regions.
• Leverage data insights for horizon scanning, opportunity spotting and pipeline management.
• Lead high-impact pitches, panel submissions and market-leading initiatives to secure new work.
• Monitor external trends and gather market intelligence to inform business development activity.
• Maximise technology and data tools to deliver proactive, targeted insights.
• Collaborate with global product teams to build and maintain a strong international network.
Job Requirements
• Proven business development experience within professional services — ideally in Capital Markets with exposure to Derivatives and Structured Products.
• Deep understanding of derivatives markets, structured finance products, regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.
• A track record of developing and executing strategies that deliver measurable growth.
• Experience working across global teams and leveraging international resources.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Confident relationship-builder with a talent for spotting cross-selling opportunities and leading pitches.
• Degree in marketing, business or a related field (advanced qualifications preferred).
