A leading international professional services firm is seeking a dynamic Head of Communications to shape and deliver its global communications strategy. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving both external and internal communications across all markets, practice areas and offices, ensuring full alignment with the firm’s business priorities.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Business Development, you will lead a team of communications professionals and work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Responsibilities

External Communications

• Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy that supports the firm’s business and marketing goals.

• Strengthen brand awareness and perception across established and emerging markets.

• Lead the firm’s social media strategy, enhancing employee advocacy and growing audience engagement through high-quality content.

• Manage external content and media agencies to maximise brand visibility.

• Lead media relations, cultivating strong relationships with key industry, legal and financial publications.

• Oversee the team’s day-to-day activities, including:

o Drafting and distributing firm, deal and people-related press releases.

o Pitching stories to target media.

o Writing communications related to directory rankings and industry publications.

o Preparing award submissions and associated PR.

• Identify opportunities for thought leadership to reinforce the firm’s expertise and market position.

Internal Communications

• Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy that ensures all employees understand the firm’s vision, goals and achievements.

• Work closely with Executive Committee members, Managing Partners and Group Services leaders to support strategic communications across departments.

• Enhance and leverage internal communication channels such as the intranet, webinars and town halls.

• Lead communications for CSR, DE&I, Wellbeing and Alumni initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong drafting ability with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leadership.

• Strong leadership qualities with experience managing a communications team.

• Deep understanding of PR, social, digital and content marketing.

• More than 10 years’ experience in a senior communications role, ideally within an international professional services environment.

• Demonstrated track record of leading effective communication strategies that elevate brand awareness and support employee engagement.

• Solid understanding of the legal or financial sector.

• Graduate (2:1 or higher) with CIPR, CIM or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
