Marketing & BD Assistant (Real Estate & Public Policy)
Job Description
We are recruiting a Business Development Assistant to join the Marketing & Business Development department of a strong City law firm. The successful candidate will work closely with the Real Estate and Public Policy practices while also supporting the wider BD team across firmwide projects.
This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure across a wide range of business development and marketing disciplines. You’ll play an active part in the day-to-day delivery of BD initiatives for specific practice areas and contribute to larger firmwide marketing projects.
Responsibilities
Business Development
• Support the delivery of practice area marketing plans and campaigns, ensuring activities are completed on time and within budget
• Develop an understanding of the practice groups’ work and sub-sectors
• Assist in the credentials capture process and support with pitch activity
• Produce client and target research, and explore BD and marketing opportunities (e.g. conferences and events)
• Lead on directory and award submissions for relevant practice areas or individuals
• Carry out market and competitor research
Marketing Communications
• Compile client newsletters and alerts, manage targeted mailing lists, and monitor reader engagement
• Collaborate with the events team on seminars and client events
• Support data analysis and reporting on marketing activities
• Assist fee earners with profile-raising initiatives and cross-practice communication
• Work with partners and managers to implement marketing campaigns and develop practice area materials
• Help leverage thought leadership, including drafting website bios and supporting LinkedIn content
• Assist with press releases and other PR activities
• Proofread materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to house style
Job Requirements
• Some prior experience at assistant level, ideally within professional services (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of, or strong interest in, Real Estate and/or Public Policy practice areas
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proactive, organised, and tenacious
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Effective team player
