Are you a strategic, data-driven marketing professional with deep experience in professional services—ideally legal? We are seeking a Client Development/BD Manager to drive high-impact business development and marketing initiatives for our dynamic London-based transactional practices, with a focus on Private Equity, Strategic Transactions, and Tax.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of delivering global campaigns, spearheading thought leadership initiatives, and advising senior stakeholders. You'll also be responsible for executing targeted client development strategies that raise the profile and grow the profitability of key practice areas across EMEA.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

• Lead and execute business development plans for transactional practices, including Private Equity and M&A.

• Partner with senior lawyers to develop individual BD plans and strategic initiatives.

• Analyse markets and clients to identify new business opportunities and cross-practice synergies.

• Provide competitive intelligence and support client targeting initiatives.

Pitches & Proposals

• Oversee high-volume, tailored pitch and RFP responses that align with client needs and showcase firm capabilities.

• Collaborate with Finance, Talent, and other departments to deliver impactful and cohesive presentations.

Marketing & Communications

• Lead global thought leadership campaigns (including industry reports and podcasts).

• Drive compelling digital content, SEO-optimized website material, social media campaigns, and client newsletters.

• Oversee legal directory submissions and coordinate award entries with a focus on strategic recognition.

Events & Sponsorships

• Develop and deliver ROI-driven client events, conference sponsorships, and strategic networking initiatives.

• Guide partner engagement before, during, and after events to ensure meaningful client touchpoints.

Internal Tools & Data Management

• Promote the effective use of BD tools such as CRM systems, deal databases, and proposal platforms.

• Track KPIs and measure ROI to optimise marketing strategies and resource allocation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Experience in a marketing or business development role within a professional services environment (legal sector preferred).

• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal.

• Strong leadership presence with the confidence to advise partners and drive initiatives.

• A strategic mindset paired with a hands-on approach to execution.

• Proven ability to use data and metrics to influence decision-making and improve performance.

• Experience managing legal directory submissions and award entries.
