Senior BD Manager - Litigation (12-14 month FTC)
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support the Litigation practice of a large global law firm. This role will cover maternity leave on a 12-14 month FTC. This hands-on opportunity involves driving business development initiatives, managing client relationships, enhancing the practice’s profile, and leading a small London-based BD team.
Responsibilities
• Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement BD and marketing plans aligned with practice and firm strategy; support client teams, industry groups, and regional initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor three London-based BD colleagues; coordinate with global BD teams to ensure consistency.
• Pitching & Marketing: Lead RFPs, pitches, thought leadership campaigns, events, and seminars to raise the practice’s profile.
• Market Insight & Reporting: Provide client, competitor, and market analysis; maintain marketing materials and monitor progress against objectives.
Job Requirements
• Degree-educated or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience in business development, marketing, or communications within professional services (law firm experience preferred).
• Experience supporting litigation or disputes practices is advantageous.
• Proven team management or mentoring experience.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and project management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
