Head of Marketing - Part time
Job Description
Lead the strategic direction of marketing at a top-tier Barristers’ Chambers (1 day/week required in the London office, the remainder can be completed remotely).
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Marketing to join a highly respected Barristers’ Chambers. Specialising in areas such as police law, inquests, inquiries, data protection and public law, Chambers is seeking a marketing leader to drive its profile, strengthen client relationships, and support barristers in building successful practices.
This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) ideal for a senior marketing professional who combines strategic vision with hands-on delivery. Working closely with a skilled Marketing Manager and the wider clerking and administrative teams, you’ll be responsible for delivering Chambers’ marketing, branding, and business development strategy. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and implement an annual marketing and business development plan aligned with Chambers’ strategic goals
• Build Chambers’ reputation with key audiences including solicitors, government, and police forces
• Track and report on performance of marketing initiatives, adapting strategy as needed
Brand & Communications
• Maintain a strong and consistent brand across all materials and channels
• Oversee the website, social media, and digital content
• Manage legal directory submissions (Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500) and raise the profile of Chambers and its members through thought leadership and newsletters
Client Development & Events
• Identify and pursue new relationship-building opportunities with solicitors and legal teams
• Organise and manage client events, training sessions, webinars, and seminars
• Collect and analyse client feedback to improve service and engagement
Support for Members
• Support barristers with marketing initiatives, online profiles, and networking opportunities
• Assist in promoting individual and collective achievements
Collaboration & Reporting
• Work closely with the Marketing Manager and provide regular updates to the Business Development Committee
• Liaise with senior clerks, committees, and the administrative team to support Chambers-wide initiatives

Job Requirements
Essential:
• Proven experience in a senior marketing, communications, or business development role
• Professional services experience, ideally in the legal sector or a similar environment
• Strong strategic thinking and hands-on delivery capability
• Excellent writing, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the Bar and its regulatory landscape
• Event management and digital marketing experience
• CIM or equivalent marketing qualification
